Thread Lift is a minimally invasive procedure which lifts up the loose skin by using temporary sutures. It is an office procedure with minimal recovery time. Pre Operative
As a female plastic surgeon, I like to connect with my patients on a personal level and understand their concerns and expectations. Detailed history, review of your medications and preoperative photos, at rest and in motion help us understand the muscle activity. It is also advisable to see a patient’s old photos to see the facial structure.
Surgery
The areas to be treated are marked on your face. Numbing Cream is applied and a local anesthetic is also injected at points of thread entry. The threads are passed under the skin and you may feel some pulling sensation as the threads are tightened.
Post Operative
Thread Lift is an office procedure done within an hour. You will see some redness on the treated areas which disappears within 1-2 hours. It is important not to rub your face, bend your head low and sleep on your face for a week. Some swelling, irritation and redness may persist for 5-7 days.
Recovery
Most patients will be back to work the same or next day, making it an ideal procedure for people with kids and a busy lifestyle.

It is ideal to start treatments in your late 20s to early 30s before deep lines develop. Prevention is better than cure and if you can avoid deep wrinkles from forming, your face will look youthful for a longer time.
Early signs of aging and sagging skin can be easily corrected by a Thread Lift. However if you have a lot of loose skin and sagging, FaceLift may be better for you. We usually discuss both options and their pros and cons in your consultation.
Sometimes, threads can become visible under the skin, if the skin is very thin. We may have to remove the visible thread and reinsert a new one in these cases.
If you are still a candidate for a Thread Lift, we can redo the procedures. If not we can discuss other options.
As long as your blood pressure and sugar levels are under control, you can get a Thread Lift done. Thread Lift will be an ideal procedure for you as it will avoid the risk of general anesthesia, which is needed for a Face Lift.
Results from a Thread Lift are seen right away but you should give yourself 2-3 weeks to recover completely from the soreness and swelling.
