Arm Lift or Arm Tuck, surgically known as a Brachioplasty, is done for removing excess skin and fat from the arms. Inner arms are areas of stubborn fat and thin loose skin. This can be very difficult to get rid of despite exercise and a healthy diet.
Liposuction can be used to suck out excess fat to contour the arm and let the skin shrink. Excess of loose skin needs to tackled surgically.
Beautifully contoured arms help create a positive body image whilst enjoying an active, fit life.
AM I ELIGIBLE?
EXCESS FAT IN ARMS
Localized Fat deposits that cause a saggy inner arm can be an inherent tendency and can be extremely stubborn to correct even after losing weight with exercise and a healthy diet. Liposuction is an ideal treatment for these cases.
LOOSE SAGGY SKIN POST
WEIGHT LOSS AND AGING
Excessive loss of weight takes the fat away leaving behind loose, deflated skin. This skin has poor elasticity hence does not shrink and redrape well. Surgical excision of this skin gives an excellent contour to the arm.
PHYSICAL PROBLEMS
Repeated rashes,Inability
to move arm freely due to loose
folds of skin,Infections
in the folds.

As a female plastic surgeon, I like to connect with my patients on a personal level and understand their concerns and expectations. Detailed history and preoperative photos help us assess the area of concern accurately and make a definitive surgical plan.
Arm Lift is performed under general anesthesia. A tumescent saline solution is injected into the arm and liposuction is performed first to remove excess fat and shorten the incision. The excess leftover skin is excised by placing the incision such that it is well hidden.
The surgery involves an overnight stay. A small, thin tube may be temporarily placed under the skin to drain any excess blood or fluid. You will be discharged with a prescription of antibiotics and pain killers. Most patients do not experience pain after 2-3 days. You can get back to work in 2-3 weeks.
You will need to use a well fitted compression garment for 6-8 weeks. Some activities like jogging, high impact exercises and swimming will be restricted for 6 weeks. Your arm will feel tight for a few weeks and that feeling will settle down once swelling goes away.
* It is important to note that results vary with each individual, depending on a combination of factors such as age, skin elasticity, muscle tone and lifestyle
Patients are advised to wait for 3 months before starting Toning Exercises for the arm to avoid scar stretching.
Dr Devayani places the scar on the inner side of the arm such that it stays mostly hidden. With good scar treatment, it is possible to have a very fine scar.
The results of an Arm Lift are long lasting if you maintain your weight.
The initial results are seen within a month. It takes up to 3-6 months for the final shape to be seen as the swelling settles down and the contours become evident. With Liposuction, the skin needs about 6 months to shrink and redrape.
Arm Lift is commonly done along with other procedures like Liposuction, Breast Augmentation or Facial Surgery.
